The plateau
The vineyard of Château Villemaurine, a Grand Cru Classé, covers 7 hectares in one single block and is adjacent to the historic part of the village on the eastern side. Its position is therefore right in the middle of the Saint-Emilion appellation. Its setting is stunning, and the entire vineyard is situated at the top of the Asteria limestone plateau. The vineyard is moderately sloping, forming a slight outcrop in the western part, together with a north-facing, gently-sloping plateau in the eastern part.
The notion of a single vineyard in a unique place is perfectly embodied at Villemaurine.
